John L. Wilson

John L. Wilson, 78, of Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002.

He was born Jan. 23, 1924, in Eureka Springs.

Mr. Wilson joined the U.S. Air Force in 1950 and became the flight crew chief for the B-29 aircraft. He later became a crew member for the Minuteman missiles while stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, where he retired as an E-7 after 20 years. He then worked civil service for the Federal Electric Corporation and retired 20 years later.

After the death of his wife last year, he sold his home and moved to Panama City to live with his daughter, Sandra J. (Wilson) Marsee, who survives him. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Joshua Michael, Jonathan David and Jennifer Stacey; two brothers, Louis P. Wilson of Mentone, Calif., and Luther B. Wilson of Eureka Springs; and a sister, Sue (Pearl) Estes of Harrison.

Services were held, followed by interment, on Sept. 3 in Berryville.
