The Berryville Bobcats picked up a pair of 4A-1 conference victories last week, beating Prairie Grove 41-36 on the road on Tuesday, Jan. 17, before rolling to a 55-24 homecoming victory over Gentry on Friday, Jan. 20, at Bobcat Arena.
Berryville coach Daniel Cornelison said earlier this season that he believes the Gentry Lady Pioneers are one of the state’s top three Class 4A teams. He might be right, but his Lady Bobcats weren’t about to back down on Homecoming night Friday, Jan.
The Berryville High School wrestking team hosted the annual Bobcat Winter Blowout on Saturday, with a total of 10 teams competing. Berryville finished fifth in the team standings, but Bobcats senior Tun Oo took first place in the 190-pound weight class and was named the tournament’s outstanding wrestler.
