New and expectant mothers will have an opportunity to get some valuable education — along with some useful items for their new baby — at an upcoming event at the Berryville Community Center. The Carroll County Hometown Health Coalition is putting together a Safety Baby Shower to be held from 11 a.m.

The Ozark Society Foundation will be accepting applications for its Youth Engagement Grant through Oct. 22.

Carroll County residents will get a chance to clean up for fall thanks to a special grant-in-aid from the Carroll County Quorum Court. The Carroll County Solid Waste District will be offering a special bulky waste collection event in October that will allow county residents to dispose of old, unsightly and broken furniture and other items between 8 a.m.

The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave.

October is Free Coat Month at the Mercy Berryville Auxiliary Thrift Store on Main Street in Green Forest. Through a partnership with the Green Forest United Methodist Church, the thrift store is offering one free coat per family member while supplies last.

The Friends of the Berryville Library have announced their upcoming “Fun, Frills, and Fanatics Fall Raffle,” featuring chances to win cash prizes, a handmade quilt, or an Arkansas Razorbacks gift basket.

Berryville native Dean Lee returned to his hometown in April 2021 as director of the Greater Berryville Area Chamber of Commerce after a distinguished career in athletic administration. Now, Lee is taking on a new role but he’s not leaving Berryville.
