Masons hosting breakfast on Saturday
The Basin Spring Lodge No. 386 will hold a Masonic Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at the corner of Harvey and Tower streets in Eureka Springs. A full breakfast will be served, and proceeds will benefit the Smead Walden Scholarship Fund for Eureka Springs students. Tickets are $6 each.

Several Berryville junior high students in grades 7-9 attended the Arkansas School Band & Orchestra Association Region 6 honor band auditions Saturday, Dec. 10, at Harrison Middle School. Bands from across the northern part of the state make up Region 6 — including Gravette, Rogers, Bentonville and all the schools in between over to Mountain Home. There were 570 students who auditioned and 240 were selected to participate in two bands. The following students from Berryville were selected: First Band — Israel Merida-Noriega, first chair flute; Andrew Greisenauer, third-chair tuba; Molly Staats, thirdchair oboe; Maynor Valiente, eighth-chair horn; David Arrizon, 13thchair trumpet; and Keily Diaz, 20th-chair clarinet; Second Band: Garrett Tibbets, first-chair trombone; Zoey Garrett, firstchair bass clarinet; Reagan Scarrow, 22ndchair clarinet; AC Calvillo, first alternate baritone saxophone.

The Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center is located at 202 W. Madison Ave. in Berryville. The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. Lunch is served at noon each weekday. The suggested donation for ages 60 and up is $4. There is a $6 charge for those under 60 and all carryout meals. Breakfast is served Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Menus are subject to change.

The Berryville and Green Forest libraries have teamed up to present the “Soy Super / I’m Super” national traveling exhibit in Carroll County. The exhibit allows people of all ages, but especially tweens, to explore the benefits and applications of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) in our lives.
