DENVER - Washington Nationals second baseman Trea Turner hit for the cycle tonight against the Colorado Rockies, as the Nats won in a shootout, 15-12.
At only 23-years-old, Turner joins an elite group of now nine members that have recorded a cycle for the Nationals, including the club's days as the Montreal Expos. The last Nat to record the cycle was Cristian Guzman in August of 2008.
Turner was 4-of-6 at the plate (.667) with 7 RBIs and four runs scored. Turner hit a home run in the 6th inning, a triple in the 7th, a double in the 2nd and a single in the 1st. San Diego Padres first baseman Will Myers also hit for the cycle earlier this season on April 10, 2017.
*Noteworthy: The only MLB club without a player owning a cycle is the Miami Marlins.
