PITTSBURGH — Former New York Yankees starting pitcher Iván Nova faced off against his old team today, as he took the mound for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Nova was dominate, as he pitched seven innings, allowing only four hits and one earned run. Only outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury managed to do any damage in the game. Ellsbury launced a homer in the top of the seventh inning to trim the Pirates' lead to 2-1, but the Yankees got no closer. Nova (2-2) got the victory and sent his old teammates to the showers. The Bronx Bombers record dipped to 11-7 after the loss, while the Pirates improved to 8-10.
