NEW YORK — Chris Carter hit his first home run of the season today, as the New York Yankees (11-6) knocked off the Pittsburgh Pirates (7-10), 11-5. Carter came into the game as a pinch hitter in the top of the eighth inning and smashed a three-run homer to give the Bronx Bombers an 8-5 lead. And just to add insult to injury, outfielder Aaron Judge hit his sixth homer of the season to put 11 runs on the board. Shortstop Ronald Torreyes continued to shine, as he went 4-of-5 at the plate with 2 RBIs and a run scored.
