ARKANSAS @ No.6 AUBURN -- PREVIEW

Arkansas @ No. 6 Auburn: KICKOFF is less than an hour away!
While the Hogs struggled to a 3-9 record a year ago, they did show signs of improvement at season's end. After a pair of embarrassing losses to USC at home (52-7) and at Alabama (52-0), the Razorbacks played National Runner-Up Auburn close in the first half, before falling behind and losing 35-17.
The Hogs were in all three games to conclude the season, even though all the contests ended with Arkansas losses: @ Ole Miss L 24-34, Miss St. 17-24 and @ LSU 27-31.
Arkansas should be able to run the ball with their massive offensive line and a trio of running backs in Alex Collins, Jonathan Williams and Korliss Marshall.
The defense should be much improved with question marks remaining in the defensive line, minus Trey Flowers, but experience brimming in the linebacker core and secondary.
The key to the game is the play of QB Brandon Allen. In his last go against Auburn, Allen was 10-of-22 for 112 yards passing and one touchdown. But in Arkansas' close call at LSU, to finish the year, Allen completed a career-high 19 completions on 29 attempts for 178 yards and two touchdowns.
Arkansas can upset Auburn, but the Hogs must be able to throw the ball off of their vaunted run game and show improvement in their lackluster defense of a year ago.
If the run game is effective, it should make things much easier on Allen, allowing him some one-on-one match ups he must take advantage of with TE Hunter Henry and an improved roster of wide receivers, anchored by senior Demetrius Wilson, junior Keon Hatcher and true freshman JoJo Robinson.
If the run game works and Allen goes for 200 yards or more, and he doesn't turn the ball over, Arkansas WINS 28-21.
If Auburn's defense stuffs the Hogs run game, and makes Allen turn the ball over, Auburn WINS, 38-28.
