Help local students and save on subscription

Carroll County Newspapers is partnering with Bright Futures Berryville and the Eureka Springs and Green Forest school districts to help provide winter clothing for students in the county.

Bright Futures Berryville is a nonprofit organization that works with the Berryville School District and community resources to meet the needs of students to make sure each student has a chance to succeed.

“The work of connecting our community to the needs of the students in our classrooms is some of my favorite work,” said Bright Futures Berryville coordinator Mindy Hicks. “Our community cares about our students, and I know they are blessed when they can help fill a need. The stories I receive from those who work face-to-face with the students are so sweet, and our students are amazed that someone would provide for them.”

Carroll County Newspapers is offering $10 off any new paid subscription or paid subscription renewal for individuals who donate a new coat, hoodie, shoes, youth jeans or black or gray sweatpants or leggings to go to Bright Futures Berryville/Berryville School District, the Eureka Springs School District or the Green Forest School District from now through Dec. 30. Items may also be donated directly to any of the schools after that date.

“We want to be a partner in the community, and this is a great way to do that,” said Scott Loftis, editor and general manager for Carroll County Newspapers. “Bright Futures is a great organization that provides a lot of help and support to students in the Berryville School District, and we’re honored to help in some small way. We’re also excited to work with the Eureka Springs and Green Forest school districts, so hopefully we can help even more students.”

New or renewing subscribers may drop off donations at the Carroll County Newspapers office at 1105 S. Main in Berryville.

The office has been closed to the public since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic but will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday beginning this week.

Masks are strongly encouraged for those visiting the newspaper office.
