Shot fired into apartment wall leads to Berryville manís arrest
A Berryville man was arrested after he admitted firing a round into the wall of an apartment during an argument on Friday, Oct. 29, Berryville police chief Robert Bartos said Monday.
Bartos said officers were dispatched to a possible domestic disturbance at Magnolia Village apartments. When officers arrived at the apartment complex, they spoke with Daniel Clements, 47, who was outside his apartment, Bartos said. Clements was unarmed, according to Bartos, but told officers he had a pistol in his car. Clements told the officers he had gotten angry during a verbal argument then went into his bedroom to retrieve the gun and fired one round into the wall of the apartment.
Clements was arrested and booked into the Carroll County Detention Center early Saturday on charges of aggravated assault on a family or household member, first-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and discharging a firearm in city limits. As of Monday afternoon, Clements was still in custody.
