Lady Tigers lose final home match

Tuesday, October 12, 2021

The Green Forest Lady Tigers face a rugged conference schedule in 3A West volleyball.

Combine that with a young lineup, and it’s been hard for the Lady Tigers to gain any traction this fall. But coach Terri Harness saw some good signs in Green Forest’s four-set loss to Charleston on Oct. 7.

“The girls played much better,” Harness said. “But Charleston is a pretty good team and we’re struggling finishing a match.”

The loss to Charleston came on Senior Night, the final home match for seniors Samantha Delavin, Samantha Uvieta, Alexis Griffith, Jaycee Kaler and Geraldine Herrera.

The Lady Tigers will close out the regular season with a pair of road matches this week, at Booneville on Tuesday and at Elkins on Thursday.

The district tournament begins Monday, Oct. 18, at Booneville.
