Tigers fall to Prarie Grove
The Green Forest Tigers picked a bad time to underperform, coach Greg Tibbitt said after last Friday’s 36-6 loss to Prairie Grove in the 4A-1 conference opener.
“The baseline is we played our worst game against our best opponent,” Tibbitt said Monday. “We did some uncharacteristic things that we haven’t been doing this year. … Prairie Grove is No. 7 in the state, so it is what it is. But we just didn’t play as well as we could.”
Prairie Grove scored two touchdowns in each of the first two quarters and led 28-0 at halftime.
Green Forest scored on a 12-yard touchdown run by junior quarterback Isaiah Fraga in the fourth quarter.
Things won’t get any easier for Green Forest this week as the Tigers travel to Springdale to take on conference powerhouse Shiloh Christian, the defending Class 4A state champion.
“We’re just going to get back to basics and focus on ourselves and try to take it one day at a time to get better,” Tibbitt said,
