Berryville golfers win again on home course
So far this season, Berryville’s golfers have been hard to beat on their home course.
Berryville’s boys and girls pulled off another sweep at the Carroll Country Club on Tuesday, Aug. 31 — the third time they’ve done so this season.
Junior Nate Allen fired a 37 to take medalist honors and lead Berryville to a 34-shot win over Valley Springs in the boys division. He was followed by D.J. Colbert at 44, Luke Dignan at 48 and Dylan Higgins at 54 as the Bobcats posted a team score of 129. Valley Springs was second at 163. Green Forest’s Austin Howerton shot 42, with teammate Alex Kilbourn at 53.
Emma Hall’s 47 took medalist honors on the girls’ side as Berryville beat Eureka Springs by six shots. Sadie Sharp shot 63 and Alyssa Lee and Jaiden Hood each shot 66 for Berryville, which finished at 172.Katie Farrar led Eureka Springs with a 57, followed by teammates Ana Crider (60) and Aspen Pena (65). Green Forest’s Leah Evans shot 58.
