Softball: Lady Bobcats bounce back

Tuesday, April 6, 2021

The Berryville Lady Bobcats lost a heartbreaker to Prairie Grove on Tuesday, March 30, when the Lady Tigers scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh for a 6-5 victory.

But the Lady Bobcats didn’t let the loss linger. Berryville responded the following day with a 9-6 victory over Huntsville.

“We’ve had our ups and downs,” Berryville coach Ryan Whetham said. “But the response and the bounceback from the downs has been what has pleased me the most.”

Faith Kelley and Karlea Standlee each drove in two runs against Huntsville, while LoraGrace Hill had two hits and scored three runs. Kelley, Macie Roy and Ava O’Gorek also had two hits apiece. Roy scored twice.

Berryville hosted Gravette on Monday. The Lady Bobcats will play at Clinton on Thursday before hosting Valley Springs on Friday.
