Soccer: Lady Tigers blank Springdale JV
It’s still very early in the 2021 soccer season, but Green Forest girls coach Ashley Wilson is feeling pretty good about the Lady Tigers.
Green Forest shut out Springdale’s junior varsity team 4-0 on Monday, March 8, getting goals from Hanya Fuentes, Samantha Delavin, Kimberly Lopez and Emily Lozano.
The victory improved Green Forest’s record to 3-0 going into Monday’s game at Berryville, which was rescheduled from last week and moved to the Lady Bobcats’ home field.
“I hope we keep that momentum going,” Wilson said. “I think we’re very capable of that. We’ve got a lot of talent.”
The Lady Tigers also have some depth, with 17 players on their roster.
“They’ve all been playing together for a while,” Wilson said. “That really helps.”
The Lady Tigers will open conference play on Tuesday at Lincoln.
On the boys’ side, Green Forest defeated Springdale’s JV 1-0 on a goal by senior Emerson Ortiz.
