Dorothy Jean Swink (Deejay) of Holiday Island, Arkansas was born September 29, 1929 to Leslie and Jessie (Baldwin) Williams. Dorothy passed away January 8, 2021 in Holiday Island at the age of 91.
Born the year that started the Great Depression, she showed those traits of the World War II culture, known as “The Greatest Generation” -- resilient, optimistic, non-complaining, appreciative of having even just the basics, and marked by the desire to do the right thing. She enjoyed golf and spending time with family and friends, and she had a great sense of humor -- she so liked to laugh.
Dorothy is survived by her son Jim McNamara and his wife Marlena of Ashland, Oregon; grandchildren Ryan and his wife Crystal, Kyna and husband Jake; great grandchildren Kylie and husband Preston, Caitlyn, Anthony, Kayson, Kynsley, Emma, Luke, John; along with other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and one brother Ed Williams.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
