Thanks to officers
I would once again like to take this opportunity to thank two special Green Forest police officers for their help on the night of Nov. 10.
After fighting the leaf fire my yard man started that afternoon and he left thinking it was out; the wind started blowing and the fire erupted again at 9:30 p.m. I worked feverously for 45 minutes and found I was getting nowhere and called the fire department. Police officers Rangel and Pedraza and fireman Josh McCormick showed up and took over my task. They too worked nearly an hour with my hose and rake trying to extinguish the embers but the wind was not cooperating. As a last resort Josh went after a fire truck and put the fire and embers out completely. Thank you so very much, gentlemen, for going above and beyond what is in the line of duty well after midnight. It was sincerely appreciated.
