Rodney Arnell Nance, born June 28, 1938 in Viola, Missouri, the son of Raymond and Gladys (Stiles) Nance, passed away at home, near Berryville, at the age of 82, with his family near.
Rodney was one of three sons. Out of high school, he worked at Ocoma Foods, now Tyson Foods. Next, he worked for Kraft Foods, hauling 10-gallon cans of milk. Rodney had the first bulk milk route with Kraft Foods. He later became a carpenter, building homes in Carroll and Barry County. He was most proud of his sons. They all worked the family farm together. He was also very proud of becoming Papaw. He enjoyed doing anything with his grandsons, who lovingly referred to him as just “Pap”. In his spare time, he liked to play on the tractor, fish or hunt.
On June 27, 1959 Rodney married Mabel Clark who survives him of the home. They recently celebrated 61 years together. Rodney is also survived by sons Roger Nance (Sandra Walker Nance) and Ray Allen Nance (Gayle Riddels); grandsons Ryan, Rusty and Ross Nance all of Berryville, Arkansas, as well as a host of other friends, family, and the best neighbors.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Gladys Nance; brothers Lowell Dean Nance and Carl Nance.
