Berryville man dies in two-vehicle accident
A Berryville man was killed in a two-vehicle accident June 12 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 62 and Arkansas Highway 143.
According to a preliminary report by the Arkansas State Police, a 2004 Dodge Ram driven by Dillon Johnson, 28, of Berryville entered the westbound lane of U.S. 62, failing to yield the right of way to a westbound 2016 Mack truck. The Mack truck driver, who was not identified, applied his brakes and moved to the left in an attempt to avoid the collision, the report says, but the front of the Mack truck struck the driverís side of the Dodge.
A passenger in the Dodge, 56-year-old Danny Johnson of Berryville, was injured and transported to Mercy hospital in Berryville, according to the report.
It was the second fatal accident this month at the 62-143 intersection. A Springdale man was killed in a two-vehicle accident there on June 5.
