2 people die in local accidents

Two people died as a result of accidents last week in Carroll County.

Reginaldo Olaer, 56, of Berryville was killed when his motorcycle collided with a pickup on Tuesday, June 2, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 62 and Arkansas Highway 103 South in Green Forest. According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, Olaer was riding a 2017 Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on U.S. 62 at 7:35 a.m. when he struck a 1997 Chevrolet truck that was making a left turn onto Arkansas 103. The report said the driver and a passenger in the pickup were not injured. Neither were identified in the report.

Brad Walker, 31, of Springdale died after a two-vehicle accident Friday, June 5, at the intersection of U.S. 62 and Arkansas Highway 143 west of Berryville.

According to a preliminary state police report, Walker was a passenger in a 2011 Hyundai Elantra driven by Michael Martin, 18, of Alvard, Texas. The westbound Elantra was making a left turn off U.S. 62 at 8:55 a.m. when it was struck by an eastbound 2015 GMC Sierra. Both vehicles came to rest in the south ditch of U.S. 62, according to the report. The driver of the Sierra was not identified.
