Cecil “Jack” Ramsey, 81, passed away peacefully in Stillwater, Oklahoma on Saturday, April 18, 2020 surrounded by his family.
Jack was born November 5, 1938 in Berryville, Arkansas to Cecil and Lola Mae (Burris) Ramsey. On November 2, 1960 he joined the U.S. Army where he faithfully served his country and was honorably discharged November 1, 1963. During his military tour he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Ord, California, and Worms, Germany. On March 11, 1967 he married Judy Carol Humbard in Oak Grove, Arkansas. They were blessed with 53 wonderful years of marriage. Jack was active in the Elks Lodge #1859 and the Moose Lodge #2089, in Stillwater.
Traveling was a great passion of Jack’s. He enjoyed cruises to different islands, especially Cozumel. He enjoyed traveling the country, getting to see some of God’s majesty works of art. He worked for many different contractors in several states as a Pipeline Inspector for over 40 years, retiring in 2016. Recently, he spent a lot of his time playing his IPad and visiting folks on facebook.
Jack had an outgoing personality, an unforgettable smile, never met a strange. He will be remembered for his kindness and gentle spirit.
Jack is survived by; wife, Judy of Stillwater, Ok; son, Jody Ramsey of Stillwater, Ok; grandchildren, Tamara Perryman (Kyle), Berryville, AR, Christopher Steffek and Michael Steffek of Loyal, OK; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Lenora Davis, Springfield, MO, and Louise Newman, Hollister, MO; his fur babies, Molly and Skipper.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, John Anderson; baby daughter, Viola; infant son, Johnny; brothers, Bryce Ramsey, Rondall Anderson, and Charles Anderson; sisters, Anna Mae Ramsey, and Marie Nightingale.
