etty Jean Swallow, a resident of Berryville, Arkansas was born September 1, 1931 in Ponca, Arkansas, daughter of Doyle Franklin and Ethel Jane (Arbaugh) Villines, departed this life Sunday, March 22, 2020 at the age of 88 years.

Betty was a homemaker most of her life taking care of her home and children. She worked at Glick Garment Factory did some substitute teaching at Berryville along with working at the Sale Barn on Thursdays for a short time. She was a member of the Southern Heights Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for the four to five-year olds. Betty enjoyed being outdoors during the spring and summer. You could usually find her working in the yard with Bob or laying flat rocks for a patio, a walkway, a rock garden or a rock wall. She did love her rocks. She always put God and family first and you never ever left her house hungry. If you did it was your fault because she would ask many times. Betty was a good friend to many, a great wife, as great mother, a great grandmother, and will be missed.

On October 20, 1949 Betty was united in marriage with Robert Gene Swallow, Sr. Betty is survived by her son Robert G. Swallow, Jr and wife Beverly of Checotah, OK; daughter Peggy Suzanne McMillian and husband Jim of Puerta Vallarta, MX; son John Doyle Swallow of Berryville, AR; grandchildren Julie Baker, Jennifer Robertson, Jason Swofford, Kim Childers, Jessica Swofford, Jason Bunch, Darek Bunch, Ben Swallow, Candace Carpenter, Jamie Johnson-Sloop, Charlene Kolster, twenty-one great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; son-in-law Gerry Swofford of Berryville, AR; brother Sonny Eugene Villines and wife Collette of Harrison, AR; sister Wanda Donaldson and husband Jerry of Shell Knob, MO; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Swallow, Sr; daughter Deloris Swofford; parents Doyle and Ethel Villines; brother Kenneth Villines and sister Christine Clark as well an infant brother; and sister Nadine Smith.
