Friday was Senior Night at Bobcat Arena, in more ways than one for the Berryville Lady Bobcats.

Senior forward Jordan Estepp scored a game-high 18 points and senior guard Lexy Anderson added 16 as the Lady Bobcats beat Shiloh Christian 48-25 to snap their first two-game losing streak in more than three years.

“Lexy and Jordan both played really well for us,” Berryville coach Daniel Cornelison said. “When they’re doing what they’re capable of doing, we’re significantly better.”

The Lady Bobcats (17-7, 6-4 4A-1) took control early, outscoring Shiloh Christian 16-3 in the first quarter and 31-6 in the first half.

“We played a really good first half,” Cornelison said. “We jumped on ’em early and did what we had to do. So I was really pleased with the start of the game.”

But Berryville scored just four points in the third quarter.

“I thought we got a little complacent the second half, but when you’re up big that happens sometimes. I’d like to see us put four quarters together, I guess is the thing that’s concerning me most. We just haven’t put four quarters together in a long time.”

Friday’s game was the last regular-season home appearance for Anderson, Estepp and classmates Kelsey Smith and Cecilia Doss.

Berryville will host the 4A North Regional Tournament, so the Lady Bobcats’ seniors have a chance to play at home again. But for now, the focus is on Tuesday night’s nonconference game at Clarksville and Friday’s regular-season finale at Huntsville.

“We’re going to have to play basketball at a really high level,” Cornelison said. “I feel like if we can maintain our level of intensity and focus for four quarters, I think we can be hard to beat. But right now, for whatever reason it is, we’re just struggling with that.”
