2 chases end in arrests

Two Green Forest men were arrested over the weekend after allegedly fleeing from police in separate incidents.
John Aaron Foster, 34, was arrested on Saturday and booked into the Carroll County Detention Center on multiple charges including driving while intoxicated.
“It started to be just a regular traffic stop and ended up a pursuit,” Green Forest police chief John Bailey said. “The pursuing officer lost track of him briefly out north of town. Then another Green Forest officer spotted him. He ran a little ways and then he finally gave it up. He crashed once, but that wasn’t what caused the end of the pursuit.”
Nathan Eric Moppin, 33, was booked into the county jail on Sunday on multiple failure to appear charges.
Bailey said Moppin was riding a motorcycle and led officers on a chase that began in Green Forest and continued west toward Eureka Springs.
“They terminated the pursuit going up Bluebird Mountain,” Bailey said. “He was meeting traffic head-on. Shortly after they terminated the pursuit, he ran out of gas and one of the deputies went back up and picked him up.”
No further details on either arrest were available Monday.
