Faris Miller

Tuesday, January 21, 2020

Faris Gene Miller, son of Carl Miller and Louisa (Walker) Jones, was born September 20, 1938 at Metalton, Arkansas. He departed this world January 7, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He fought the good fight to the very end when his Lord called him home to rest.

He was a saved and baptized member of First Baptist Church and an active member of Towering Oaks Church in Berryville, Arkansas.

Faris was an industrious man working a variety of positions and a master at fixing anything. He retired from Carroll Electric Cooperative Corporation in 1996 after 31 years of service. Faris was kindhearted and generous with his time and finances; always putting others before himself. He was at the height of happiness when surrounded by family. As any other parent, he felt his children and grandchildren were the very best.

Early mornings, after retirement, Faris looked forward to his trip to McDonald’s for coffee and “shooting the bull” with the “Coffee Bums”, as he called his friends. He loved to garden and work on his 20 acres, taking great pride in his home.

His last request to his family was to always be generous to others.

Faris is survived by his wife of 61 years Linda K. (Walker) Miller; daughter, Deanna (Miller) Jones and husband Mike Jones, of Springdale; son, Michael Miller; grandson Adam Jones and wife Emily and her son, Miles Carter, all of Fayetteville; granddaughter, Alexis Jones of Springdale; brother, Ronnie Miller Fayetteville; half-brother Gary Jones, Macomb, Missouri and many other relatives and close friends.

Memorial Service were held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Towering Oaks Church in Berryville with Bro. Larry Montgomery. Memorial donations may be made to Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery, c/o David Sparks, 202 East Madison, Berryville, AR 72616. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
