Berryville wrestlers win four divisions in Maumelle meet

The Berryville High School wrestling team had an impressive performance over the weekend in the Sam Ginn Hornet Swarm tournament at Maumelle High School.

The Bobcats had four individual first-place winners and finished third among 11 teams, behind larger schools Russellville and Beebe.

Berryville’s Caleb Record (113 pounds), Dominic Henry (126 pounds), Brett Parsons (145 pounds) and Colton Record (285 pounds) all won their respective divisions.

Caleb Record and Henry each won all five of their matches by pin. Parsons won by decision in the 145-pound first-place match, while Colton Record won all four of his matches by pin.

Berryville’s Dominic Alvarado was fourth at 113 pounds, while Dylan Sperduto was fourth at 132 pounds. T.J. Thibodeau and Trevor Debour were eight and ninth, respectively, at 138 pounds.

Carlos Escobar finished fourth at 152 pounds. Tun Oo took sixth place at 160 pounds. Hayden Keith was seventh at 170 pounds, with Ninuterek John ninth at 182 pounds. Haggai Katjang was sixth at 195 pounds.

Berryville, coming off a state runner-up finish, will compete Tuesday at Hollister, Mo., before the Battle for the Bling on Friday and Saturday at Fayetteville High School.
