David (Dave) Hoover, age 73, of Alpena, AR passed away in his home, on Thursday, November 7, 2019. He was born July 4, 1946 in Lebanon, MO son of William David and Damon May (Snoddy) Jackson.
Dave graduated from High School in Phoenix, AZ and later earned his associate degree. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, SGT E4, stationed in Germany during the Viet Nam Conflict. On February 14, 1992 he married the love of his life Sharon Kincaid
He was employed for the Phoenix Police Department for 22 years and earned the City of Phoenix Excellence Award in 1994.
Wherever he went, Dave maintained the spirit of community, and an unyielding love for people and justice. He was the truest of brothers to those in need, loved the Lord and the church with all his heart. He was a member of Alpena Baptist Church. Dave served as Chairman of Carroll County Republican Committee for 5 years, Chairman of Carroll County Election Commission for 13 years and Justice Of The Peace 2002 J P District 5.
He was a devoted husband and dad, loved politics, farming, cattle, fishing and Football.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Hoover of the home, daughter, Emily Hoover of Fayetteville, AR, brother, John Hoover and wife Kay of Phoenix, AZ, cousins, Jack Rayner Jr and wife Cindy, Susie Durand and husband John, aunt, Trilla Jackson of Macks Creek, MO and numerous friends.
Celebration Of Life will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Alpena Baptist Church with Brother Freddie Blevins and Brother Joey Kelley officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday, November 11, 2019 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest. Interment will be in Thomas, OK.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Proton Pals Foundation, Oklahoma City, OK or AR Children’s Hospital, Northwest Arkansas.
