Jesse Donald Berry, born March 18, 1939 in Thomas, Oklahoma to Jesse and Louise (Lovelace) Berry, went home to be with the Lord November 9, 2019, at the age of 80.
Don is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Pierce Berry; sons Robert Lee Berry of Arkansas, Jeffery Donald Berry of California; sisters Judith Bowman of Montana, Milly Smith (Daun) of Montana; brothers Stacey (Lucy) Berry, Arthur (America) Berry, Paul (Leoma) Berry all of California; 14 nephews and nieces; a gaggle of grand nieces and nephews; many friends and church family.
He is preceded by his parents.
Donís family moved to California in 1940 where he graduated from El Monte High School in 1957. There he met Rosemarie, his lovely wife. Donís mother recollects that he did not like to be held, liked to watch street crews working, liked to stand in the wind, liked liver and thought the whole cow should be liver.
For over 25 years he enjoyed dirt track sprint car racing and land speed racing. Don also enjoyed any type of fishing, mainly deep sea.
Don owned his own automotive repair business in Monrovia, California for over 25 year and attended the San Gabriel Community Church. In Berryville he volunteered at Lives Under Construction Boyís Ranch.
The love of his heart was to teach men about the Bible and how to have a deeper relationship with the Savior.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Friday, November 15, 2019 at Freeman Heights Baptist Church. Visitation will be 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
