Library grateful for Friends

Friday, October 18, 2019

The Berryville Public Library gets by with a little help from our Friends Ö actually, we get by with a lot of help from our Friends! Re-established three years ago, our Friends of the Library group has raised nearly $30,000 to fund childrenís programming, provide new furniture, purchase new and emerging technology and help support the building of a new library.

Oct. 20-26, 2019 is the 13th annual National Friends of Libraries Week, and itís the perfect opportunity for the staff and the trustees of the Berryville Public Library to give our Friends a big shout out for all they do to make a difference for us every day.

We know the Friends are always looking for new members and volunteers. Itís easy to join. While raising funds and awareness of all the good going on in thelibrary and our community is hard work, it is also a lot of fun. Stop by the library to pick up a sponsorship application today.

Want to know more about all the Friends are doing for our library and our town? Attend the annual meeting on Monday, Nov. 7, at 6 pm in the library or check out the Friends of the Library group on the Berryville Libraryís Facebook page.

We have big plans for the future of our library, but none of these plans will be possible without our Friends. Joining the Friends of the Library is a terrific way to make new friends of your own and to give back to our town by making its public library even better.

Sincerely,

Julie Hall
