Lady Tigers get 2 victories

The Green Forest Lady Tigers bounced back nicely from their first two losses of the season to win a pair of home matches this week.

The Lady Tigers beat West Fork in five sets Monday, winning 25-13, 13-25, 25-12, 21-25, 15-11. On Tuesday, Green Forest swept Marshall in three sets by scores of 25-22, 25-16, 25-14.

Junior Maddie Youngblood had nine kills against West Fork, with senior Alissa Smith adding eight and senior Skylar Howerton six. Smith had four aces while Howerton and junior Magen Parton added three each. Howerton had four blocks.

In the victory over Marshall, Howerton had seven kills while Youngblood and Smith added four each. Senior Kendall DeMeyer had four aces with Smith adding three. Howerton had three blocks and Youngblood had two.

Green Forest (9-3) will host Berryville on Monday.
