Saunders Museum receives state grant
Berryville Mayor Tim McKinney announced that Saunders Memorial Museum has been awarded $2,425 in grant funds from the Division of Arkansas Heritage to help with utility costs.
Saunders Memorial Museum, which opened in 1956, houses the vast collection of unique and rare guns and other historical artifacts once owned by Charles Burton Saunders.
In a news release announcing the receipt of the grant funds, the city noted that the museum is not self-supporting.
“This grant will offset with the utility costs to maintain the museum at consistent temperatures to preserve the items on display, as well as make it comfortable for visitors to the facility,” the news release says.
Saunders Memorial Museum is open from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
