Carl Leon Langley, 90, departed this life August 17, 2019, at his home in Berryville, Arkansas. He was born December 1, 1928 to William Duton Langley and Ursula Irene (Springer) Langley in Hurley, Missouri.
Mr. Langley was a graduate of Southwest Missouri State and was a beloved educator and school administrator for 34 years, spending the majority of his career at Reeds Springs High School as a principal, teacher, counselor, mentor, coach and friend to thousands of students.
Carl married Hazel Maxine Mills on May 8, 1949, and they recently celebrated 70 years of marriage at a reception in their home, surrounded by friends and family. Carl was a longtime member of Mt. Olivet Freewill Baptist Church of Blue Eye, serving in many capacitates over the years.
Preceding Carl in death are his parents; brothers, Max and Kay; and sister-in-law Charlene.
Carl is survived by his wife, Maxine; son, Roger Langley (Ketta) of Springdale, Arkansas; daughter, Carla Shull (Richard) of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren, Frank Gagne, Jennifer and Matt Langley (Carrie), and Joseph Shull (Heather); step-grandchildren, Taylor (Sarah) and Stuart Shull (Anissa), Angie Boots and Darren (Karen) and Scott Stockton; 15 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ima Mae Langley, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Friday, August 23, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00pm at the Charles M Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Funeral Service was 10:00 Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Mt. Olivet Freewill Baptist Church in Blue Eye, Missouri. Interment will follow at the Blue Eye Cemetery Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
