Gary Lee Trantham, 74, of Green Forest, Ark. passed away July 8, 2019. He was born June 21, 1945 in Green Forest, to the late Clinton and Reba (Ayers) Trantham.
Although he was diagnosed with polio at a young age, Gary never let things get him down. In his younger years, on the family farm, Gary loved riding horses and his go-cart. He attended Green Forest Schools, loved life and was a very caring individual. He was self-employed as a truck driver for his trucking company, “Trantham Farm.” Gary attended Osage Baptist Church for a number of years.
He is survived by two sisters, Wanda Smith of Berryville and Barbara Powell of Green Forest; seven nieces, Diane Ketchelmeier, Brenda Powell, Cheryl Cole, Carolyn Williams, Dorothy Norris, Rhonda Terherst Anderson, Carolyn Pritchett; three nephews, Gary Powell, Ricky Anderson, Geoffery Ladd; fellow truck drivers and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sharon Anderson and Annetta Egbert; two nephews, Melvin Lawrence and Roy Lee Anderson; and one niece, Marilyn Davis.
Celebration Of Life Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Smith Family Funeral Home in Green Forest with Pastor Lannie Younger officiating. Interment will follow at Farewell Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 Friday, July 12, 2019 at Smith Family Funeral Home.
