Mercy Hospital Auxiliary presents volunteer awards

Mercy Hospital Berryville Auxiliary held its annual business meeting and Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on Monday, June 17, at Carroll Electric in Berryville.

Mercy Hospital Berryville Auxiliary’s annual business meeting and Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon was held Monday, June 17, at Carroll Electric in Berryville.

The State President’s theme of “Volunteers have a Heart of Gold” was carried out with gold- and red-covered potted plants that also served as door prizes.

DVS Deana Davidson introduced the film on the life of Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy.

Mercy Hospital Berryville administrator VonDa Moore spoke to the group on the ongoing structural issues with the Thrift Store in Green Forest. A search is ongoing for a temporary space to utilize until the situation is finalized.

Officers elected for 2019-2020 were installed by Northwest District Chair Carol Evans. Those installed were President Jean Vance, President-Elect Pat Armer and Secretary Leoria Brewer.

Those receiving awards for volunteer hours were as follows:

• 50 hours (Auxiliary Badge): Emily Lindstgom, Kahlan Lindstrom, Ruby Martin, Lili Molina, Laten Strough and Jewell Vance; • 100 hours: Donna Hattenhaur, Emily Lindstrom, Kahlan Lindstrom, Ruby Martin, Sheryl Stotes, Laten Strough, Debbie Tate and Jewell Vance; 500 hours: Joy McKinney, Paul Shoup and Emma Jean Vance;

• 1,000 hours: Rose Marie Berry and Elinor Kelly; • 1,500 hours: Brenda Lindstrom; • 2,000 hours: Sally Perkins and Alma Wood; • 2,500 hours: Leoria Brewer and Deana Davidson; • 3,000 hours: Pat Armer; • 4,000 hours: Warren Tresler; • 4,500 hours: Anita Spearman and Char Wingard; • 5,000 hours: Larinda Armer; • 5,500 hours: Viola Alstatt and Ron Flake; • 6,000 hours: Betty McClellan; • 6,500 hours: Shelba Miller; • 7,000 hours: Juanita Baker and Judy Icenogle; • 8,000 hours: Louise Landis; • 13,000 hours: Neta Sue Stamps; • 14,000 hours: Katie Kriesel.

During the luncheon, the attendees enjoyed a slide show of current and former auxiliary happenings.
