Lady Tigers gain valuable experience

The Green Forest Lady Tigers didn’t get past the second round of the Class 3A state tournament this season, losing 3-1 to Episcopal Collegiate of Little Rock on Saturday in Harrison.
But the future looks bright for the Lady Tigers.
“We were very blessed after being in 4A to have them start the 3A this year,” Lady Tigers coach Ashley Wilson said. “I have several seniors that we are definitely going to miss. But we have eight freshmen that got some good experience this season.”
Wilson said the Lady Tigers (9-7) controlled the ball for the majority of the game in the loss to Episcopal but struggled to make a shot. Episcopal scored one goal off a corner kick and another off a penalty kick.
“It was just a few instances where we let them get past us,” she said.
Still, Wilson believes the Lady Tigers will benefit from the experience.
“It was really good experience for all of them,” she said. “I’m glad my seniors got to experience. We definitely have a bright future.”
