CHARLEY B. DAVIS, of Berryville, Arkansas, was born August 1, 1935, in Alpena, Arkansas, to Joe Wilson and Stella C. Jane (Fultz) Davis. He passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019, in Berryville at the age of 83 years.
Charley was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Berryville Alumni Association. He proudly served his country as a pilot in the U.S. Army, including three tours of Vietnam and 4,200 military flight hours. He retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel with 22½ years of service. Charley loved sports, farming, hunting, fishing, his family and the Razorbacks.
On September 2, 1956, he was united in marriage with Sylvia Joanne (Bradley) Davis who survives him of the home. He is also survived by his daughter, Kimberly Davis, of Phoenix, Arizona; one sister, Joyce Pharis and husband, Edward, of Berryville, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Tasha Bland, Joseph Bland and wife, Courtney, Olivia Zoph, Victoria Zoph and Stella-Grace Ford; two great-grandchildren, Garrett Davis Bland and Annistyn Bland; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Julee Ann Davis and Jennifer Davis-Ford; six siblings, Drue Collins, Ina Garland, Eva Davis, Lester Davis, Joy O.B. Davis and Willie McKinney.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 28, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville, Arkansas. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2019, in the Alpena Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
