Goblins eliminate Bobcats

The Berryville Bobcats’ 2019 baseball season came to an end Tuesday night with a 10-5 loss to Harrison in the first round of the 4A-1 District Tournament.
Harrison scored eight runs in the bottom of the first inning and led the rest of the way, although Berryville rallied to force the game to a full seven innings.
Sophomore Jarrett Stringer gave the Bobcats (9-9, 2-6 4A-West) a short-lived lead with an RBI single in the top of the first inning, but Harrison (16-6, 7-1) took control in the bottom of the inning.
The Goblins added single runs in the second and third for a 10-1 lead.
In the top of the fifth, Berryville senior Ethan Gregory drew a walk and eventually came around to score on a wild pitch. Senior Kooper Logan made it 10-3 when he hit a triple to right field to score Stringer, and senior Braden Logan followed with an RBI single that cut Harrison’s lead to 10-4.
Berryville scored its final run in the of the seventh. Senior Rusty Colbert drew a walk and scored on a double by Kooper Logan.
