Penalty kicks made the difference for the Eureka Springs Highlanders as they won at Lincoln on Wednesday.

The teams were tied at 1-1 at the end of regulation time, with senior Griffin Taylor scoring Eureka Springs’ goal off an assist from junior Joel Harris.

Taylor scored again on a penalty kick, as did senior Kayden Eckman and sophomore Gustavo Tapia.

Sophomore goaltender Preston Hyatt, who had 18 saves for the Highlanders during regulation, stopped all three of Lincoln’s penalty kicks to clinch the victory for Eureka Springs (5-4, 4-2 3A West).

The Highlanders hosted Green Forest on Thursday. They’ll be at home against Decatur on Monday, then travel to Lead Hill on Thursday, April 25.
