GF schools address inappropriate social media post

The Green Forest School District called parents Sunday night to address an inappropriate post made on social media.
Superintendent Matt Summers said a juvenile posted an inappropriate joke on Snapchat last week. The Green Forest Police Department investigated the situation, he said, and determined there were no weapons in the home.
“The situation was fully taken care of,” Summers said. “The safety and security of our students and staff is our number one concern.”
He said the robocall was made because several people had viewed the post, and the district wanted to get ahead of the situation.
“We wanted families in our district that we’re in front of this and we’ve got it covered,” Summers said. “We like to be as proactive and preventative as possible.”
