Antler Dan Harold Allen, of Berryville, Arkansas, was born on Aug. 22, 1952, in Hanford, California, the son of Rufus B. Allen and Othela Louise (Trammel) Allen. He departed this life on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at 66 years of age.
Antler Dan enjoyed being home with family and lived life how he wanted. He was a talented artist and an excellent respiratory therapist before his retirement. He was a lover of ZZ Top, puns, National Geographic and reading. Though he was often in pain due to his physical limitations, he was full of joy. He especially loved playing the character of the Undertaker in the annual Eureka Springs bank robbery for several years. Above all, he was a fiercely devoted husband and father whose priority was always the people he loved.
On Aug. 22, 1979, he was united in marriage with Lorie (Patricia) (Riney) Allen, the love of his life, who survives him. He is also survived by his three daughters, Sarah Burgess of Dallas, Texas; Amanda Price and her husband, Jacob, of Bentonville; and Angie Lewis of St. Joe; one brother, Rufus James Allen of Batavia; two sisters, Anita Neary of Flippin and Donna Allen of Harrison; beloved grandchildren, Ruby, Quinn, Iris, Flora, Wyatt, Briley, Dakota and Cheyenne; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives, family and friends.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Louise Allen; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Bill Webb; and sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Kenny Saxon.
