Baseball Bobcats beat Elkins for 2-0 start

So far, so good for the Berryville Bobcats baseball team.

The Bobcats won their second consecutive game on Wednesday, beating visiting Elkins 10-7.

Berryville (2-0) outhit Elkins 8-5 as senior Braden Logan had a double and a triple and drove in four runs. Senior Kooper Logan and sophomore Jarrett Stringer also had timely RBIs for the Bobcats, and coach David Broseus said seniors Rusty Colbert and Ethan Gregory also had multiple quality at-bats.

Junior Tyler Payne pitched four innings for the Bobcats, allowing just one run. He walked one batter and struck out six. Kooper Logan pitched the final three innings for Berryville, striking out six batters and walking one.

Berryville will host the Carroll County Tournament this weekend at the Bobcat Athletic Complex. Action begins at 4 p.m. Friday and will continue through Saturday. Teams competing along with Berryville will be Green Forest, Lead Hill, Valley Springs and Pea Ridge.
