MARY SUE (COLLINS) SUMMERS, of Berryville, Arkansas, was born September 24, 1935, in Alpena Pass, Arkansas to Herbert and Drue Ella (Davis) Collins. She departed this life on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, in Berryville at the age of 83 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Drue Ella Collins; her husband, John M. Summers; grandson, James Michael McEnaney; and her beloved dog, Pudgin Summers.
She is survived by her son, John Stephen Summers and his wife, Dana Lou; daughter, Susan Summers and her husband, Kevin Wolfinbarger; two grandsons, Nathan Carrico and Christopher McEnaney; one granddaughter, Courtney Rozands; two great-granddaughters, Amy Depree and Lucinda McEnaney; one great-grandson, Bryan Dupree; many other relatives and loved ones.
Mary Sue was filled with lots of personality. She loved to play bingo, argue with her grandchildren and drive her car. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club, a former Girl Scout leader and President of the local chapter of the American Cancer Society and big into genealogy. Mary Sue had lost a lot in the past two years, including her health, and was ready to go home.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2019, at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service. Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelsonfuneral.com.
