Wanda Lou Huffstutter was born May 16, 1931 in Ft. Smith, AR to Ollie and Ben Weindel and went home to the Lord February 21, 2019. She is survived by one son, David Allen Ross, and three step daughters, Karen Myers, Nancy Short, and Lana Booth.
Wanda married Horace Ross on April 20, 1951. He preceded her in death after 40 years of marriage. On April 20, 2001 she married Bruce Huffstutter who also preceded her in death after two years of marriage.
Wanda was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and an Associate Member of Lone Star Bible Chapel. She taught Sunday School and Training Union classes for many years.
Wanda worked at many different jobs through her life. She was a bookkeeper at two truck lines, worked at a flight school in Honolulu, was an artist and art teacher, a substitute teacher, lunch room monitor, worked at the Passion Play, and at a Christian Book Store. In later life she had some success as a freelance writer.
She always said that the greatest blessing of her life other than her faith in Christ was her son David who was always a joy to her. Because Horace was gone so much during his time in the Navy and their frequent moves, they were very close. The next greatest blessing was her nephew Jim Ross and his family, and late in life her new Huffstutter family became another added blessing, especially the many great grandchildren.
She departed this life at the age of 87 to be with the Lord she loved.
