The first Carroll County Job Fair was a huge success.

Steve Johnson, executive director of the Greater Berryville Area Chamber of Commerce, said more than 250 job seekers showed up at the Berryville Community Center on Tuesday to participate in the event. He said 15 area businesses were on hand to meet with and take applications from local residents.

The event was made possible through a collaboration of the Chamber, the city of Berryville, the community center and North Arkansas College Carroll County Center. Harter House, Tyson Foods, Carroll Electric Cooperative Corporation, Cornerstone Bank, Allen Appliance, KTHS Radio- Carroll County Broadcasting, North Arkansas College, Mercy Hospital Berryville, Ducommun, 2020 U.S. Census Bureau, Autumn Hill, the Learning Center of North Arkansas, the Carroll County Senior Activity and Wellness Center, The Crescent Hotel and Spa, Carroll County Solid Waste Authority, the Berryville Police Department and Brite Source Staffing and Recruiting all took part in the event.

In addition, the Berryville Public Library volunteered to assist people who were needing to write and print out a resume. The North Arkansas College Carroll County Center also held an interview skills workshop Thursday, Feb. 14, in conjunction with the Job Fair. The free course was taught by Joe Berry.
