HELEN M. SMITH, of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, was born January 21, 1925 in Grandview, Arkansas to Durwood Raymond and Goldie Ethel (Warren) Edmondson. She departed this life January 29, 2019 in Berryville, Arkansas at the age of 94 years.

Helen was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church in Berryville. She worked at Glick Manufacturing for many years and raised chickens for Tyson Foods. Helen loved taking care of her family more than anything. She enjoyed cooking for them and always kept everyone well stocked with canned goods.

She is survived by her four children, Kathryn Keeland (Kenneth) of Berryville, Harl Smith (Marianna) of Berryville, Rita Parker (Roger) of Kingston and Leisa Wheeless (Barry) of De Soto, Texas; nine grandchildren, Tracy Smith (Courtney) of Berryville, Leslea Mann (Michael) of Berryville, Andrew McAfee (Kristen) of Midlothian, Texas, Crystal Ashworth (Tyler) Berryville, Jamie Casey (Colby) of Berryville, Collin Parker (Angela) of Kingston, Dalton Parker (Tish) of Kingston, Nathan Wheeless (Emily) of College Station, Texas and Shayne Wheeless of De Soto, Texas; eleven great grandchildren, Hunter Mann (Jayden), Baylea Smith, Jarrett Mann, Peyton Parker, Karson Casey, Jordan Casey, Mason Ashworth, Brooke Parker, Jaxson McAfee, Annlee Ashworth, Avery McAfee and two baby girls who will be arriving soon.

On December 19, 1941, she was united in marriage with Willard Smith, who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Durwood and Goldie Edmondson; brothers, Ralph, Raymond and Charlie Edmondson; sister, Ruth Miller; great granddaughter, Karter-Lea Faith Mann.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 2, 2019, at the Assembly of God Church on the Hill in Berryville. Visitation will be Friday, February 1, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Interment will follow the service in the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
