GF board extends Summersí contract

Superintendent Matt Summers isnít leaving the Green Forest School District any time soon.

The Green Forest School Board voted Monday to extend Summersí contract as superintendent through June 30, 2022.

The board also voted to accept the resignations of custodian Gordon Wesner, food service employee Karen Widner, paraprofessional Jennifer Jackson and senior cheer coach Kristin Gordon. The board voted to accept the retirements of maintenance employee Carroll Walker and maintenance supervisor David Maybee.

The board voted to transfer Peggy Pepple to a six-hour food service position effective Jan. 22, 2019.

The board also voted to hire Pam McCormick for a three-hour food service position, Cindy Spillane as a full-time custodian, Eileen Doss as a paraprofessional and Ashley Davis as a kindergarten teacher.

The board voted to move the March board meeting date to Monday, March 11, in order to avoid a conflict with spring break.

The boardís next regular meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, in the high school library.
