Ima Loreta Rolfe, 89, has passed away January 21, 2019 in hospice care in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born November 27th in 1929 to Jewel and Bonetta (Heard) Lane. Loreta was a 1947 graduate of School of the Ozarks.
She is survived by four children, Carla Youngblood (Berryville), Vickie Rolfe (Milpitas, CA), Brenda Schultz (Syracuse, MO) and Phillip Rolfe (Asheville, NC); nine grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, SFC Aubrey Dwight Rolfe, a Korean War veteran.
Born in Clearwater, Arkansas, she moved at the age of five to Cisco Road between Berryville and Green Forest, just east of Duncan Mountain. As a wife of an Army sergeant, she lived in Colorado, Idaho, Ft. Riley Kansas, Augsburg Germany, North Carolina, Ulm Germany, White Sands New Mexico, Hanau Germany and Leavenworth Kansas. Loreta loved Europe and took every opportunity to travel and learn about local life and customs. In particular, she loved Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and Spain. She also loved traveling throughout the United States. She has always been known as an extremely hard worker who had a zest for life and loved to laugh.
A ceremony to honor her full, wonderful life will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 25, 2019 at New Home Cemetery with Pastor Michael Bolin officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville.
