Lady Tigers share scoring load in victory over Hamburg
By Scott Loftis
The Green Forest Lady Tigers’ 42-35 victory over Hamburg on Saturday in the seventh-place game of the Holiday Hoops Tournament at Berryville’s Bobcat Arena was especially gratifying for coach Kyle Farrar.
Like most opponents, Hamburg put an emphasis on slowing down Green Forest senior guard Ashley Farrar, who came in averaging 24.8 points a game.
Hamburg was successful in slowing down Ashley Farrar — who scored two points in the first three quarters and finished with 10 — but the rest of the Lady Tigers stepped up to fill the scoring void.
“That’s probably the best team win we’ve had in a long time,” Kyle Farrar said. “Everybody played really well. I’m really happy for our team.”
Junior Kiara Taylor scored 10 points for Green Forest (6-10), while sophomore Maddie Youngblood had seven. Senior Kassidy Bell scored six points, senior Daisy Padilla had five and junior Kendall DeMeyer scored four.
Green Forest will play at Berryville on Friday.
