The Berryville Lady Bobcats have fallen out of the No. 1 spot in Maxpreps’ Arkansas Class 4A rankings — despite remaining undefeated — but you couldn’t tell it by their performance last Friday against Gentry.

Led by 21 points from senior forward Hannah Morrell, the Lady Bobcats beat Gentry 60-36 to improve to 13-0 overall and 2-0 in the 4A-1 play.

“We took care of business, I guess you could say,” said Berryville coach Daniel Cornelison. “We played pretty well at times.”

Berryville’s conference rival Farmington has moved into the No. 1 spot in the Class 4A rankings. The conference includes four of the top 11-ranked teams in 4A, with Pea Ridge ranked fourth and Harrison 11th. The Lady Bobcats will face all three of those teams during an 11-day stretch from Jan. 8-18, but first they will try to bring home the first-place trophy from the 10th Annual Cornerstone Bank Holiday Hoops Tournament at Bobcat Arena. Berryville played Hamburg in a first-round game Thursday night. The semifinals will be played Friday night, with the championship games on Saturday.
