Tigers top Rose Bud for 1st victory

Green Forest rode a balanced scoring attack and stingy defense to its first victory of the season on Friday as the Tigers beat visiting Rose Bud 60-37.

Three Green Forest players scored in double figures and the Tigers held Rose Bud to 14 points in the second half.

Senior Rhett Powell cored 17 points to lead Green Forest (1-10, 1-3 3A-1 East), which also got 13 points from senior Hayden Bailey and 10 from junior Colby Rincon.

The Tigers led 27-23 at halftime before outscoring the Ramblers 33-14 in the second half.

The victory was the first for Green Forest coach Shane Compton.
